We understand that each child experiences pain in their own unique way, and we are dedicated to treating your patient as an individual. Our approach includes actively involving families in the pain management process. We offer comprehensive care for children of all ages, utilizing a range of effective pain management strategies.
We emphasize the importance of anticipating pain and creating proactive relief plans. Unmanaged pain can slow your patient’s post-operative healing and lead to feelings of helplessness, making it more difficult for them to engage in everyday activities.
Treatment options
Children's Acute Pain Management team manages acute pain and the side effects of pain medication in postoperative children. To ensure a smooth transition home, we usually start children on medications by mouth or through a gastrostomy (stomach) button while they are in the hospital. This process allows us to adjust dosages as needed.
